Oliver Hutchison
Deconstruction/Reconstruction (Penguin Book 4:1), 2014, found objects, collage
Oliver Hutchison was born in Melbourne, Australia in 1977. Oliver works predominantly in sculpture but also silversmithing and printmaking. He brings to his work a minimal aesthetic which is tempered though a subtle play on materiality and form and often with an ironic take on mass production and reproducibility in this digital age. Oliver's background is in carpentry and furniture making, he has trained in silversmithing at the Goldsmiths School in Brisbane and printmaking at the Brisbane Institute of Art. Oliver has exhibited work at the BIA and the Victorian College of the Arts. He is currently completing his Graduate Certificate in Visual Art at the VCA. Oliver lives and works in Melbourne.
