Leanne Waterhouse has recently moved to Melbourne after living and working in the Northern Territory for 10 years. She works in a variety of media including photography, printmaking, textiles, sculpture and new media. Her work is influenced by her direct environment and how an individuals environment can impact mental health and a sense of self.
It explores concepts of isolation, repeated thinking and over thinking. The idea that the mind is examined almost although it is a separation of self.
Waterhouse deconstruction images from the environment and reconstructions them to create new meaning that considers a new environment.
Leanne Waterhouse has a background in arts education and arts management, she managed Darwin Visual Arts Association (DVAA) for four years and is currently the Projects and Development Manager at Chapter House Lane.
